语法复习二、主谓一致
在英语句子里,谓语受主语支配,其动词必须和主语在人称和数上保持一致,这就叫主谓一致。寻其规律,大致可归纳为三个原则,即语法一致、逻辑意义一致和就近一致原则。
(一)语法一致原则:语法上一致就是谓语动词和主语在单、复数形式上保持一致。
1、以单数名词或代词、动词不定式短语、动名词短语或从句作主语时,谓语动词一般用单数形式;主语为复数时,谓语动词用复数形式。如:His father is working on the farm. / To study English well is not easy. / What he said is very important for us all. / The children were in the classroom two hours ago. / Reading in the sun is bad for your eyes.
注意:由what引导的主语从句,后面的谓语动词多数情况用单数形式,但若表语是复数或what从句是一个带有复数意义的并列结构时,主句的谓语动词用复数形式。如:What I bought were three English books. / What I say and do is (are) helpful to you.
2、由连接词and或both ? and连接起来的合成主语后面,要用复数形式的谓语动词。如:Lucy and Lily are twins. / She and I are classmates. / The boy and the girl were surprised when they heard the news. / Both she and he are Young Pioneers.
注意:① 若and所连接的两个词是指同一个人或物时,它后面的谓语动词就应用单数形式。如:The writer and artist has come.; / ② 由and连接的并列单数主语前如果分别有no, each, every more than a (an) , many a (an)修饰时,其谓语动词要用单数形式。如:Every student and every teacher was in the room.. / No boy and no girl likes it.
3、主语为单数名词或代词,尽管后面跟有with, together with, except, but, like, as well as, rather than, more than, no less than, besides, including等引起的短语,谓语动词仍用单数形式;若主语为复数,谓语用复数形式。如:Mr Green, together with his wife and children, has come to China. / Nobody but Jim and Mike was on the playground. / She, like you and Tom, is very tall.
4、either, neither, each, every 或no +单数名词和由some, any, no, every构成的复合不定代词,都作单数看待。如:Each of us has a new book. / Everything around us is matter.
注意:① 在口语中当either或neither后跟有"of+复数名词(或代词)"作主语时,其谓语动词也可用复数。如:Neither of the texts is (are) interesting. ② 若none of后面的名词是不可数名词,它的谓语动词就要用单数;若它后面的名词是复数,它的谓语动词用单数或复数都可以。如:None of us has (have) been to America.
5、在定语从句时,关系代词that, who, which等作主语时,其谓语动词的数应与句中先行词的数一致。如:He is one of my friends who are working hard. / He is the only one of my friends who is working hard.
6、如果集体名词指的是整个集体,它的谓语动词用单数;如果它指集体的成员,其谓语动词就用复数形式。这些词有family, class, crowd, committee, population, audience等。如:Class Four is on the third floor. / Class Four are unable to agree upon a monitor.
注意:people, police, cattle等名词一般都用作复数。如:The police are looking for the lost child.
7、由"a lot of, lots of, plenty of, the rest of, the majority of + 名词"构成的短语以及由"分数或百分数+名词"构成的短语作主语,其谓语动词的数要根据短语中后面名词的数而定。如:There are a lot of people in the classroom. / The rest of the lecture is wonderful. / 50% of the students in our class are girls.
注意: a number of"许多",作定语修饰复数名词,谓语用复数;the number of"?的数量",主语是number,谓语用单数。
8、在倒装句中,谓语动词的数应与其后的主语一致。如:There comes the bus./ On the wall are many pictures. / Such is the result. / Such are the facts.
(二)逻辑意义一致原则:逻辑意义一致就是谓语动词的数必须和主语的意义一致(因有时主语形式为单数,但意义为复数;有时形式为复数,但意义为单数)。
1、what, who, which, any, more, all等代词可以是单数,也可是复数,主要靠意思来决定。如:Which is your bag? / Which are your bags? / All is going well. / All have gone to Beijing.
2、表示"时间、重量、长度、价值"等的名词的复数作主语时,谓语动词通常用单数形式, 这是由于作主语的名词在概念上是一个整体,如:Thirty minutes is enough for the work.
3、若英语是书名、片名、格言、剧名、报名、国名等的复数形式,其谓语动词通常用单数形式。如: "The Arabian Nights"is an interesting story-book.
4、表数量的短语"one and a half"后接复数名词作主语时,其谓语动词可用单数形式(也可用复数。如:One and a half apples is (are) left on the table.
5、算式中表示数目(字)的主语通常作单数看待,其谓语动词采用单数形式。如:Twelve plus eight is twenty. / Fifty-six divided by eight is seven.
6、一些学科名词是以 -ics 结尾,如:mathematics, politics, physics 以及news, works等,都属于形式上是复数的名词,实际意义为单数名词,它们作主语时,其谓语动词要用单数形式。如:The paper works was built in 1990. / I think physics isn't easy to study.
7、trousers, glasses, clothes, shoes, 等词作主语时,谓语用复数,但如果这些名词前有a (the) pair of等量词修饰时,谓语动词用单数。如:My glasses are broken. / The pair of shoes under the bed is his.
8、"定冠词the + 形容词或分词",表示某一类人时,动词用复数。
(三)就近一致原则:在英语句子中,有时谓语动词的人称和数与最近的主语保持一致。
1、当两个主语由either ? or, neither ? nor, whether ? or ?, not only ? but also连接时,谓语动词和邻近的主语一致。如:Either the teacher or the students are our friends. / Neither they nor he is wholly right. / Is neither he nor they wholly right?
2、there be句型be动词单复数取决于其后的主语。如果其后是由and连接的两个主语,则应与靠近的那个主语保持一致。如:There are two chairs and a desk in the room..
注意:Here引导的句子用法同上。

英语写作词语选择的要点
1.词语选择的重要性
在The Right Word at the Right Time的?序言?中,编者对词语选用的重要性作了一个很好的比喻:?Using the right word at the right time is rather like wearing appropriate clothing for the occasion:it is a courtesy to others,and a favor to yourself-a matter of presenting yourself well in the eyes of the world.?
显然,说话或写文章时用词适当比穿着适当难度大得多,因而也具有更大的重要性。
在我国,古人写文章时常为一个词语的选用具思苦想,因而有?语不惊人死不休?的说法。
成语?一字值千金?也说明了选择词语的极端重要性。有时?一字之差?造成令人遗憾的败笔,或招致成千上万的经济损失。这些反面的教训也告诉我们必须重视词语选用的问题。
2.词语选择的可能性
实际上,我们每个人的脑子里都有了一个或大或小的词库,只要我们肯去发掘,往往可以得到更好的表达方式。这是我们做好词语选用的主观条件。
从客观条件广看,我们有各种类型的词典和参考书,只要我们平时多翻译、多阅读,写作时勤查考,就会在词语选用上不断进步。当然,一部好词典也不会毫无缺点,更难以面面俱到,因此在这里我们应牢牢记住著名英国作家、评论家和辞书编纂家Johson的话:
Dictionaries are like watches:the worst is better than none,and the best cannot be expected to go quite true.
3.词语选择的三项标准
关于择语标准,人们说法不一,但准确、鲜明、生动三项原则是公认的。当然,某词语用得是否符合要求,不可孤立地从词语本身的含义上着眼,还要看其具体使用场合,包括同其他词语搭配等。
1)择语的准确性
准确性,就是要根据使用场合选用确切的语言形式,正如有句英语俗语所言:
Do not write so that your words may be undetstood,but write so that your words must be understood.
著名美国作家马克?吐温说:?用词准确与用词几乎准确,这两者之间的差异就如闪电与萤火虫之间的差异。?(The difference between the right word and the almost-right word is as great as that between lighting and the lighting bug.)
为了择语准确,必须熟悉词语的多义性。例如depression对心理学家、经济学家或地质学家来说,含义各不相同:
He is in a state of deep depression as a result of his setback latest experiment.
The depression first hit almost all the small and medium-sized enterprises.
Transportation was at a standstill caused by the depressions in the highways after the earthquake in that area.
反之,也常常有几个词语可以表示类似的含义,如心理学上的?depression?也能用melancholia,the blues,the dismal in the dumps,low等词语表示。
要做到准确选择,有必要注意词语的两种意义:?基本意义?(denotation)和?引申意义?(connotation)。前者指该词语的本身,或客观的固有含义,后者指该词语在一定搭配或上下句中出现的其他意义,往往比较含蓄,带有词语使用者的主观态度或感彩。如inexpensive和cheap都表示便宜的基本意思,如顾客问营业员:?May I have some thing cheaper??意思是希望要价钱便宜一点的,当然并不是说质量可以不好,但cheap在其他句式或使用场合可引出?低劣?、?平庸?、?吝啬?、?卑鄙?等多种意思,这类意思正是修辞上的?敏感地带?。
选用词语的准确性还表现在区分表示大体/抽象含义的词语和表示具体/特定含义的词语上,需要根据不同的使用场合做出正确的选择。抽象含义词语和具体含义词语不是两个对立的家族,在一定的条件下可以转化,如
labor一词通常带抽象含义,但并非一成不变。试比较:
A)Honest labor creates wealth for the society.
B)In the GM contract dispute,labor seeks a five-cent per hour wage increase.
上述A句中labor一词为抽象含义,泛指各种社会劳动,B句中labor为具体含义,特指WAW,即美国汽车、飞机、农业机械工人联合会。
2)择语的鲜明度
准确性是鲜明度的前提,也是提高鲜明度的基础。然而,鲜明与简练相关。英国文豪莎士比亚的名言?Brevity is the soul of wit?相当于汉语的?言贵简洁?。我们说话、写文章都要以?言简意赅?四字为目标,为此,应从两个方面加以注意:
A.在可以运用较简短的常见词语表达意思时不要用复杂而少的词语,如:do something for(不用perform,accomplish),用end/finish a letter (不用terminate,conclude)。
B.多余的或转弯抹角的词语都不利于明白地表达思想,因而下列短语中加括号的部分都应省去:
mutual aid(to each other)(mutual)aid to each other,(an entirely)complete confidence,repeat the question(again),return(back) from abroad,etc.
3)择语的生动感
生动感也可以叫做优美感(gracefulness),它是建筑在准确性和鲜明度的基础上的,否则,单纯追求生动或优雅,就会出现辞藻华丽(flowery)而内容空洞的文风,这是应当避免的。

语法复习三:名词性从句
在前面我们已经知道了什么是句子.我们可以这样解释什么叫从句:在一个句子的前面加上一个连接词,这个句子就变成了从句.如果这个从句做了主语,它就是主语从句.其它的以此类推.
注: 1.特殊疑问句本身可以做从句,它不需要加连接词.
2.所有的从句要使用陈述语序. 陈述语序: 句子第一个词永远是主语;第二个词可能是情态动词\助动词等加上动词,或者是动词本身.
名词性从句相当于名词,可分别作主句的主语、表语、宾语和同位语。因此,名词性从句分为主语从句、表语从句、宾语从句和同位从句。
名词性从句,顾名思义,它具有名词性.所以可以作主语,宾语等等.回忆一下句子成分那一章
(一)引导名词性从句的连接词
1、连接代词:who, whose, whom, what, which。有词义,在从句中担任成分,如主语、表语、宾语、或定语等。
2、连接副词:when, where, why, how。有词义,在从句中担任成分,作状语。
3、连接词:that, whether, if, as if, that
(二)主语从句
1、主语从句在复合句作主语。
Who will go is not important.
2、用it作形式主语,主语从句放在句末。
It doesn’t matter so much whether you will come or not.
3、that引导主语从句时放在句首时,不能省略。
That he suddenly fell ill last week made us surprised.
实用例句:
Is it true that he will be punished seriously by the headmaster?
Does it make any difference who bought these gifts?
How strange it is that these children are so quiet!
注意: 表示是否,只能使用whether.
(三)表语从句
1、表语从句在复合句中作表语,位于系动词之后。
The question was who could go there.
2、引导表语从句的连接词that有时可省去。
My idea is (that) we can get more comrades to help in the work.
注意: 表示是否,只能使用whether.
(四)宾语从句
1、宾语从句在复合句中作宾语。引导宾语从句的连词that一般可省略。
I hope (that) everything is all right.
2、介词之后的宾语从句,不可用which或if连接,要分别用what或 whether。
I’m interested in whether you’ve finished the work..
I’m interested in what you’ve said.
3、whether与if都可以引导宾语从句,常可互换。但下面情况不能互换。
if和whether区别
①宾语从句是否定句时,只用if,不用whether。
e.g. I wonder if it doesn’t rain.
②用if 会引起误解,就要用whether。
e.g. Please let me know whether you want to go.(此句如果把whether改成if,
容易当成条件句理解)
③宾语从句中的whether 与or not直接连用,就不能换成if;不直接连用,可换。
e.g. I don’t know whether or not the report is true.
I don’t know whether/ if the report is true or not.
④介词后的宾语从句要用whether引导。whether 可与不定式连用。whether也可引导主语从句、表语从句、同位语从句,还可引导让步状语从句,以上均不能换成if。但引导条件从句时,只能用if,而不能用whether。
It depends on whether we have enough time.
They don’t know whether to go there.
Please come to see me if you have time. 状语从句
实用例句: 使用it作形式宾语
I thought it impossible that he could finish this job in just two hours.
He left it to my judgment whether we should continue this project.
注意: 形式主语和形式宾语只有一个替代词: it
(五)同位语从句
同位语从句在句中作某一名词的同位语,一般位于该名词(如:news, fact, idea, suggestion, promise等)之后,说明该名词的具体内容。
I have no idea when he will be back.
The fact that he had not said anything surprised everybody

一、一般现在时
1、表示经常发生的习惯性的、现在反复出现的动作或状态,常用的时间状语有:always,usually,seldom, sometimes, every day, now and then, once a week等。
2、表示眼下或目前等现在时间所发生的动作或存在的状态,这种状态带有一定的持续性。
3、表示客观事实或普遍真理。
4、书报的标题,故事的叙述,小说、戏剧、*等情节介绍,的说明等。
5、时间表、时刻表、日程表、节目单、课程表等按规定将要发生的动作,只限于go, arrive, leave, start, stay, return, begin, come等动词。
6、在时间、条件、方式、让步状语从句中,表示将来的动作。
注意:一般现在时可以用于定语从句或宾语从句中表示将来。
7、用在某些表达中,表示现在正在发生的动作或存在的状态。

二、一般过去时
1、表示在过去某一时间点发生的动作或所处的状态,与现在没有关系。常用的时间状语有:yesterday, last night, at that time等。
2、表示在过去某一段时间里反复出现的动作或状态,与现在没有关系。
3、用used to do或would do表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。
4、有些情况发生的时间没清楚表明,但实际上是“刚才,刚刚”发生的,属于过去时间,应使用过去时态。常见的有I didn’t know…或I forgot…等。
5、一般过去时可与today, this week, this month等时间状语连用。
三、一般将来时
1、will/shall do
(1)表示将来会出现的动作或状态。常用的时间状语:this evening, tomorrow, next week/month…,at the end of this term, in a few minutes等。
(2)表示将来经常发生的动作。
(3)表示事物的固有属性或必然趋势、倾向。
(4)表示说话过程中做出某种决定。
注意:条件状语从句中的will表示“决心,意愿”,此时will是情态动词表示意愿。
2、be going to do
(1)表示已经决定或安排要做的事。
(2)表示根据某种迹象认为在最近或将来将要发生的事。
3、be to do
(1)表示约定、计划或按职责、义务要求即将发生的动作。
(2)表示说话人的意志、意图、职责、义务、命令。
(3)表示注定要发生的事情。
4、be about to do
(1)表示即将发生的动作,意为“正要,即将”。
(2)不可与表示具体的将来时间的副词或副词性短语连用,但可以同由as或when引导的时间状语从句连用。
5、某些动词的现在进行时表示即将发生的动作。
四、过去将来时
1、would/should do表示从过去某一时间来看将要发生的动作或将要存在的状态。通常用于其主句的谓语为过去时态的宾语从句中。
2、were/was to do 表示过去将来时间的安排,如果这个安排后来被取消,没有实现,则用was/were to have done表示。
五、现在进行时
1、表示说话时正在进行而尚未完成的动作或状态。
2、表示现阶段一直在进行的动作,但说话时不一定正在进行。
3、有时可表示即将发生的动作(只限于go, come, stay, leave, start, begin, arrive, return, fly, drive等动词),这时常有一个表示将来时间的状语。
4、常与always, forever, constantly, continually, all the time等时间副词连用,表示反复发生的或习惯性的动作,常表示不满、抱怨或赞赏等情感。
5、有些表示感觉、情感的动词不能用进行时,它们是:know, understand, love, like, hate, feel, desire, wish, want, refuse, remember, hear, see, have等, 这些动词一般不用进行时,通常用一般现在时态,表示说话时发生的动作。
六、过去进行时
1、表示过去某一时刻或某一时间内正在进行的动作。这一特定的过去时间通常有时间状语(从句)或由上下文来表示。
2、表示过去某一阶段一直在进行的动作。但说话时不一定正在进行。
3、表示从过去某一时间的角度看将要发生的动作,用于某些动词。(见现在进行时3)
4、与always, frequently等副词连用,表示感*彩。
七、将来进行时
1、表示在将来某一时刻或某一时间段正在进行的动作。
2、表示根据计划或安排在将来某一时刻正在进行的动作。此时一般有具体的时间状语。
3、表示将来某一时刻自然发生的事,而不是人为安排要做的事。
4、表示有礼貌地询问对方的打算,语气比较委婉。

注意:(1)非延续性动词在肯定句中不能与表示一段时间的时间状语连用。
(2)此类动词在否定句中则可以与表示一段时间的时间状语连用。这类动词有:begin, leave, go, borrow, come, return, born, die, buy, arrive。
3、在时间或条件状语从句中,现在完成时代替将来完成时,表示将来某个时刻之前已经完成的动作。
4、现在完成时和一般过去时的区别
现在完成时:表示某一已完成的动作对现在造成的影响或结果,强调的是现在的情况,不能喝表示过去的时间状语连用。
一般过去时:只单纯表示过去的动作或状态,和现在不发生联系。它可以和表示过去的时间状语连用。
九、现在完成进行时
1、表示从过去某时开始一直延续到现在的动作,可能刚刚停止,也可能还在继续进行。
2、重复的动作表示感*彩。表示一直到说话时为止的一段时间内一再重复的动作。
3、现在完成时和现在完成进行时的区别
(1)表示动作已完成,着重结果;现在完成进行时表示动作的进行,强调动作的持续性。
(2)状态动词、知觉动词或情态动词如:see, feel, know, love等,不用于现在完成进行时,但可用于现在完成时。
十、过去完成时
1、表示在过去某一时刻或动作以前已经完成了的动作,即“过去的过去”。

十一、不能用被动语态的情况
1、there be 结构及所有的不及物动词或词组充当谓语时,无被动语态。
2、系动词无被动语态。
3、一些表示状态的及物动词,如cost, have, own, possess等不能用被动语态。
4、表示“希望、意图”的动词,如wish, want, hope, like, love,hate等不能变被动语态。
5、当及物动词leave, enter, reach等的宾语是表示地点和处所(包括组织、团体、军队、国家等)的名词时,不可变为被动语态。

语法无非就考时态,语态,从句,非谓语动词。
一,时态方面,要区分什么时候用过去时,什么时候用完成时,还有过去完成时,这三个的用法往往都会混淆,所以经常考这个。辨别什么时候用这三个的哪一个,要看句子里面的时间标志词,画出句子中所有动作的时间轴,就很好做了。
二,语态方面,什么时候用被动语态,判断这个需要找动作发出者,而不是光看句子主语,要用自己逻辑判断,别被句子的主语迷惑。虚拟语态虽然有学,但不是重点考核对象,很少出。
三,从句。从句太多种多样了,高中的从句,定语从句是重点。一般考引导定语从句的关系代词或关系副词,还有定语里面的介词,是放在前面还是后面,这个也是常考的。
四,非谓语动词
1 现在分词的用法,做状语,做定语,要区分(注意,做主语那些动词ing叫动名词,不属于非谓语动词范畴)
2 过去分词用法,同上。
3 动词不定式,带to的和不带to的,动词不定式里加入时态和语态变化,也要注意,这是常考的点。

很弱智吧,但是就算是高手,也会犯这些低级错误,往往就是顾着想其他方向而忽略这些最基本的东西。这也说明了一个问题,做语法题一定要注意各种细节。
